Living by the Word of God
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
James 1:22
The Word is the most powerful book in the World, because it tells us how to live for Christ so we will have eternal life in Heaven. We have a whole lifetime to read and obey the Word of God; but many people have a Bible but rarely read it or study it.
The truth about living for eternal life only comes from obeying the Word of God, and no one has eternal life except through Christ. Christ is the one who guides us through life via the indwelling Holy Spirit. You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. (Romans 8:9)
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) As we obey the Word God fills our heart with his divine love, and when this happens every command in the Word becomes natural and desirable. But we need patience, because God wants us to continue obeying the Word by telling people about Christ. And his love continues to fill our hearts to the day we die, because love connects us to God and motivates us to bring Christ to others.
And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. (Revelations 12:9) People that do not know the Word of God, by default believe Satan’s lies and deceptions; because they do not know the Truth. The Word of God is the only place where we find the Truth about living life pleasing to God, and having eternal life.
God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Genesis 1:27) Every human being is created in the image of God, and when we live as we were created, we live the best life possible and Heaven is our home. Unfortunately, Satan has deceived people to think living for Christ is boring because they have to change their life; when actually the things Christ has to do are the most fulfilling things in life. Satan makes people self-centered, but Christians are created to serve Christ and help other people, and tell them about eternal life.
Today read the Word and pray for the Lord’s guidance. Whenever possible help others and tell them about the road to eternal life.
Prayer: Father, give me a good understanding of your Word and to live by your Word. In Jesus name, Amen
