Live for Eternal Life
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11
The Lord has set eternity in our hearts, but Satan has deceived us to live for this life with little thought about eternity. Christians should live each day with eternal life in their thoughts; because it causes us to live for Christ.
He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal. (John 12:25) We lose our life means that Christ is our life; We follow Christ down the narrow road to Heaven, and the more we know the Word, which is language of God, the more thoughts Christ puts into our minds, and He may change the desires of our hearts.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. “ (John 14:6) Living each day for our eternal life, requires is to know the Truth from the Word, because the Bible tells how to be saved. Living for our eternal life motivates us to know the Truth, and to obey the Truth. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22) Being eternally minded motivates to live by the Word and to be light in this world.
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14) Our life is short like a vapor, and every day we should live for eternity, because we are created to live with the Father and the Son. We do not judge our own life, but God is our judge, we ask Him to keep changing us to conform to the image of his Son. We can never be to close to the Lord and we can always be more like Christ.
When we replace our will for the Lord’s will, and we are eternally minded, we will live life to the full. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) The best life we can live is to live for Christ, because we are created in the image of God with eternity in our hearts.
Today think about eternal life; and live for eternal life. It is our advantage to live for eternity, because it helps to overcome the world, and to overcome the fear of physical death.
Prayer: Father, help me to be eternally minded and seek every day to be closer to eternal life. In Jesus name, Amen
