Light for Christ
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
Matthew 5:14
Light represents goodness of God and Christians are now the Light, and we know the Word because the light is in the Word of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22 23)
Our Light shines when we reveal the fruit of the Spirit, and we look up to people with a caring heart; and we bring the Truth to them with encouragement. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? (Matthew 16:26). We see every person as important, because everyone is created by God. We know the importance of helping people in their physical and spiritual needs, because one soul is worth more than all the riches in the world.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:19-20) We can make disciples by inviting people to church, and the light of God will shine on them.
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. (Proverbs 27:17) Church family has a strong influence on getting closer to Christ and walking in the Spirit. Within the church we encourage each other, pray for each other, and we team with our brother or sister when we minster to others during the week.
Today remember to let your Light shine by reflecting the fruit of the Spirit. Never get discouraged, even if someone shows no desire to hear the Truth, but we keep being Light to our last breath.
Prayer: Lord, help me to shine your Light this day and help me to keep my thoughts on things above; and to remember my divine purpose. In Jesus name, Amen
