Life through the Spirit

Posted on

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

John 16:3

If live through the Spirit, Christ will guide us in Truth, and enable us to overcome things in the future.  Our soul can live in the Kingdom or it can live in the world. If our soul lives in the Kingdom. we will be guided by the Spirit.

Nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you. (Luke 17:21) Our spirit is our thoughts, personality, and will; which means we can live in the Kingdom and filter everything that comes to us through the flesh. Jesus was always connected to the Father, both in conscious and unconscious thoughts.

This paragraph is a quote from A.W. Tozer; which describes living in Kingdom. “Many have found the secret of which I speak and without giving much thought to what is going on within them, constantly practice this habit of inwardly gazing upon God. They know that something inside their hearts sees God. Even when they are compelled to withdraw their conscious attention in order to engage in earthly affairs, there is within them a secret communion always going on. Let their attention but be released for a moment from necessary business and it flies at once to God again.”

Living in the Kingdom is achieved by controlling our thoughts. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2) When our conscious thoughts are on things above, then our hearts will become connected to God. Many Christians live in the Kingdom because it brings continuous love, peace, and joy. It may sound difficult to control our thoughts on things above, but when you are close to the Lord, things of God become more interesting and fulfilling than things of the world.

Living in the Kingdom requires prayer for the Lord’s power, because it can very difficult to achieve in our own power. Living in the Kingdom with a continual connection to the Lord is the most fulfilling life we can live.

Today seek to keep your thoughts on things above, keeping your soul in the Kingdom. Interface to the world through the Spirit, whatever you see, hear, or think, take it to the Spirit and respond to the Spirit’s guidance.

Prayer: Lord help me to control my thoughts and to live in the Kingdom. Let the Spirit guide everything in my life. In Jesus name, Amen
