Life for Christ
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for Christ will find it.
Mathew 16:25
When we surrender our life to Christ, we will have eternal life. Our life in Christ will give us victory over Satan and his temptation, and we will walk in victory to our last breath. When Christ guides our thoughts, words, and actions; we are living by the Spirit.
For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. (Romans 8:13) We are created to live by the Spirit, which means we are guided by God. Everything we think, see, and hear goes to the Spirit; and everything we say and do comes from the Spirit; this is being guided by God. This is how God created is to live, and living by the Spirit can soon become natural.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” (Matthew 16:24) When our life is for Christ, we deny self and follow Christ; and we follow Christ as he guides us through the Spirit. If we are still and quiet inside, we will notice thoughts Christ puts in our minds. We have to truly want be guided by Christ and pray that we can hear the thoughts he puts in our minds, and the desire to obey.
For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:3) Our life is hidden because Christ is now our life. The greatest thing in life is having Christ guiding our life, because it is the most fulfilling life we can have, and we will be living as God created us. It’s amazing that we can put our life in hands of God, and he will guide us through life and enable us to overcome Satan temptations. There is nothing is this life, that Christ cannot carry us through.
Today give your life to Christ and you will have life to the full. Life will better than we can imagine when we are guided by Christ.
Prayer: Father, help me to die to self and follow Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
