Know the Word, or be Deceived
Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.”
Matthew 24:4
Satan is a master at deceiving people, especially people that don’t the truth of God’s Word. The more we know the God’s Truth from the Word, the more we will recognize Satan’s lies. Many people use Satan’s lies, hoping that Heaven is their eternal home. If they knew the Word, they would not believe Satan’s lies, and Heaven will not be there home.
Satan deceives both Christians and non-Christians. Non-Christians will believe Satan’s lies by default because they have no knowledge of God’s Truth, while Christians are deceived when Satan uses our own justification against us. Christians can justify their own belief thinking it is pleasing to God.
The only way to overcome Satan’s deceptions is to know the Word. For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. (Matthew 24:24) As we approach end-times, their will more and more false prophets that people will believe, but we always compare what we hear to the Word. That is why everyone should do an in-depth study of the book of Revelations, because it tells what will happen from Jesus’ ascension into Heaven until his return on judgment day.
People have their complete life-time to read the Word, but how many take the time to actually read the entire Word. To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32) When we know the Truth, we are free, which means we are free in Christ, and we don’t conform to the pattern of this world. Satan makes people think the Word is to massive and difficult to read and understand, and this is one of his biggest lies that people believe. It’s amazing how many lies from Satan that people believe that keeps them away from reading the Word.
Today don’t be deceived by Satan, and pray the Spirit will get your attention if you hear something that is in error from the Truth. And tell people God’s truth, because they don’t know the truth and are filled with lies from Satan.
Prayer: Lord, help me to understand your Word more every day, and let the Spirit guide me to bring the Truth to those who believe Satan’s lies. In Jesus name, Amen
