Never Doubt Christ
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
James 1:6
When we pray and ask God, he doesn’t always answer directly, but he makes changes in our life that often take weeks or months. We continue to pray and we never lose faith, because we always trust the Lord, and we know the Lord is always faithful. No matter what happens in our life, we always have faith in God.
When we doubt are we leaning on our own understanding, are we putting our will over God’s will, or are we impatience with the Lord’s timing? Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. (Matthew 21:21) The Lord uses this verse to emphasis the importance of fully trusting God without doubt. We fully trust the Lord at all times because he is God, and we cannot always understand his thoughts and ways.
As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9) If we truly know God, we will trust his will because we know his perfect love and his knowledge of our life, and we wait patiently for his divine power and wisdom in our life. Unfortunately, Satan seeks to make us impatient because he knows God will bless us if we wait patiently with faith. God doesn’t work on our schedule because it takes time to make lasting changes in our life.
To have faith without doubt; we need patients and to know God and his faithfulness. It is important to always pray and always have faith in God no matter what happens in life. Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18) In addition to always having faith without doubt, we should give thanks to the Lord everyday and in all circumstances. Always remember the Lord is with you and Heaven is your home, which overcomes everything in the world.
Today fully trust the Lord because he is God, and never doubt. And remember God is always faithful to his promises in the Word.
Prayer: Father, always increase my faith to where it is pleasing to you, and take away any doubt in my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
