Judging Others

Posted on

Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Matthew 7:1-2

We see people doing evil, especially when it’s against ourselves or our family, and it can be difficult to judge without condemnation. We seek justice for people who do evil and break the law, but how does God want our hearts to feel about evil people?

You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.(Matthew 5:43-45)  It can be difficult to love our enemies but the Lord says we should love our enemies. This suggests a Christian should love everyone on the planet.  What does it take for us to love our enemies and those that persecute us?  God loves everyone but he hates sin, and we are to do the same.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12)  When someone does evil, we take our anger to Satan and we hate the sin he’s put in hearts making people do evil things. Satan and his demons are all fighting to steal souls from God and fill them with evil.  These poor souls are pawns for Satan, and Satan hates them and knows he has captured their souls.

Satan fights to capture souls for his evil kingdom, and we need fight to capture souls for God’s Kingdom.  We can only do this with a heart of love and forgiveness. We always pray for our enemies, those people we know that are doing evil. We pray for the Lord to open their eyes to see and hearts to hear the Truth.  Ask the Lord how he wants you to bring his Truth to lost souls, because the Lord always has a way, but it depends on our motivation and the love in our hearts for lost souls.

Today pray for lost souls and bring God’s love to those people that are doing evil, but always seek justice. The Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him! (Isaiah 30:18) Minister to lost souls with a loving compassionate heart, even when they deny the Truth.

Prayer:  Lord, help me to judge others without condemnation but with a heart of Lord and Truth. Guide me, in the Spirit, to pray every day for lost souls.  In Jesus’ name, Amen
