Humble Heart
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
1 Peter 5:6
If we have a true relationship with the Father and the Son, we will have a humble heart. A person with a humble heart has their identity in Christ, and they depend on Christ being with them at all time. We have love and kindness for everyone, but our identity is not with people.
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6) A prideful person does not depend on Christ but depends more on self. A true humble person totally depends on Christ, and all the glory and thanks go to God. If we depend on self with prideful heart, God will oppose us because a prideful person gives glory to self, but if we give all the glory to God, he gives us grace. A humble person is secure in Christ at all times, because Christ loves us and He died for our sins; and he guides us to Heaven.
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. (Proverbs 11:2) A prideful person has no relationship with Christ and he is completely alone in this life. A humble person is always willing to obtain wisdom for God’s Word, and from prayer. There is a big difference in a prideful person and a truly humble person. Life is always better with a humble serving heart.
A humble person whose identity is in Christ, is a confident person that can show kindness to everyone. While a prideful person may depend on people to sustain their pride, but a humble person’s confidence is sustained in Christ. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. (Matthew 23:12) A Christian is humbled and he will be exalted by Christ, and being exalted by Christ is far better than being exalted by people.
When we are exalted by Christ, our hearts are filled God’s blessings, with love, peace, joy, comfort, etc. and the longer we walk with the lord the stronger these blessing become. And these blessings bring us closer to Christ because they come form God and nothing from the world can compare.
Today kill any pride and make your identity is in Christ, and depend on Christ for everything.
Prayer: We are created to be humble and secure in Christ and the Holy Spirit. And make sure your identity is in Christ and not people. In Jesus name, Amen
