Eternal Life is Our Choice
Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:12
People have the choice of where they spend eternity, but Satan lies and deceptions may keep us from knowing the Truth. We can overcome Satan’s lies by reading the Word of God and find a Bible based church to attend.
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14) From this we can see that this life is short, and it is the only chance we have to live for eternal life. But many people are so busy living for their fleshly desires they find little or no time for God. People need to know, when they take their last breath, they step into eternity.
And where we spend eternity is our choice, and we make that choice during our short life here on the earth. Satan is the great deceiver and he deceives many people about their eternal life, or he makes life living for fleshly desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) We are created by God in his image, and we are created to be governed by the Spirit, which is guided through life by Christ.
Many people who live only for this worldly life, and when leave this earth they will step into eternity, and they will forever wish they had known God, but it will be too late. This life is the only time we have to make the right choice for eternal life.
As a Christian we need to seek out lost souls and bring them God’s truth, and we reflect God’s love, peace, and joy; because we have a heart to help people who don’t know God. That is what God expects us to do during this life, and the Lord will always find a way for us to help others.
Today realize we are created to help others and tell them about salvation in Christ. And we pray that the Lord will open doors to help others.
Prayer: Lord, help me in this short life to help others and tell them eternal life is only through Christ. In Jesus name, Amen.
