Gods Truth

Posted on

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

John 8: 31-32.

There is only one truth in this world and it is God’s truth. We can believe anything from the world and we can convince ourselves of our own truth. We can even twist the Word to convince ourselves of our truth, but we can never change God’s Truth, the Truth that sets us free and gives us eternal life.

He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. (Revelations chapter 19: verse 13). When Christ returns, he is called “Word of God” meaning judgment is based on his Word. In his Word, we find the Truth. To have eternal life, we must live by the Truth not by believing lies from Satan. Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. (Matthew 10: 37). We love the Lord more than anyone, and that draws us closer to the Lord making us more Christ-like, reflecting his love, compassion, and wisdom to the world.

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. (First Timothy chapter 4: verse 1). Satan and his demons are desperately trying to feed lies into our hearts for the purpose of pulling us away from God. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. (2 Timothy 4:3. Satan will find other people believing his lies, and they will satisfy our itching ears.

God’s truth is sometimes hard to take, God may call us to do something that seems impossible for us, or we don’t want change our lifestyle because the life God has for us may conflict with something in our life. If we continue to trust God who loves us perfectly, he will give us the best life we can ever have. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10). If we live by his Truth, God who loves us perfectly gives us life to the full. If we compromise the truth for our own truth, by default we cannot live life to the full and we could be following the one who steals, kill, and destroys.

Today, decide to follow God’s Truth and receive life to the full, and the perfect eternal life. Live by Truth and the Lord will set you free in Christ. You can overcome the world as you continue to trust him and walk in his loving will.

Prayer: Lord, help me to live by your Truth because it is the only fulfilling life and the way to eternal life. Let the Spirit convict me when I start to believe Satan lies. In Jesus’ name, Amen
