God is Faithful

Posted on

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 1:9

God is faithful as we can see from his Word, and we can fully trust God because he is always faithful, and he knows us better than we know ourselves. God is perfect, he is pure light with no darkness, it is impossible for God to sin, and he is perfectly faithful. We are not perfectly faithful and if we sin and continue to sin, God is still faithful to the punishment we read about in the Word.

But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3) God protects us from the evil one, which implies we will never be tempted beyond what we can bear, but God will provide an escape. No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13) When we are tempted by Satan, we know we can escape and endure, because God is faithful.

Since we know God is perfectly faithful, it enables us to fully trust God. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) We know God is perfectly faithful, and that is one of the main reasons we can fully trust the Lord. The more we know the Word, and the closer we are to the Lord, the more we know his faithfulness, then the more we trust him. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (Proverbs 3:5)

Great peace comes when we fully trust the Lord and we put our life in hands of Christ. We live to serve the Lord and we do everything He says, which agrees with all the commands in the Word. We obey because we trust the Lord being with us, and knowing he is always faithful. What do we have to fear, knowing the Lord is faithful and he is always with us?

Today know the Lord is perfectly faithful, and we live to serve Christ because we have total faith. How could we have faith if God was not faithful?

Prayer: Lord I put all my faith in you because you are perfectly faithful. Whatever happens I will always trust you! In Jesus name, Amen
