God Changes our Hearts

Posted on

The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.

1 Samuel 16:7

The Lord looks at our hearts because it tells him everything about us. We live out of our hearts which means our motivation to serve the Lord is known to God.  Our heart is revealed by our thoughts, and God knows every thought of our hearts. The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. (Genesis 6:5) God changes our hearts to the heart of Jesus, so we will serve the Lord, because it is the desire of our heart.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. (Mark 12:30-31) The Lord changes our hearts because love makes all the commands desirable to us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. (1 John 4:20) God loves all people and with his love in our hearts we love all people, and we show our love to God by showing a loving and caring heart. We love all people but hate the deception and lies Satan has fed to lost souls.

If you love me, you will obey my commandments. I will ask the Father, and he will give you another helper who will be with you forever. (John 14:15-17)) Love motivates us to serve the Lord by being a light on a hill, bringing the love of God to people. Love makes us dependent on the Lord to be with us at all times, especially when ministering to others. Love drives us into the Word and we seek Christian fellowship, because iron sharpens iron. We pray for the Lord to help us through the Spirit, as we prepare and tell others about Christ.

God changes our heart because a heart of love is the foundation of the Christian life. Love motivates us to help and minister to everyone, makes us dependent on Christ, and drives us to live in the Word. Love takes our Biblical knowledge from our minds to our hearts, and when we experience the Word in our life, it gives a deep and clear meaning of the Word.

Today know that God is using everything to conform us to the image of his Son, with a heart filled with divine love. He is moving us to a full life that gets better every day as we get closer to the Lord.

Prayer:  Lord change my heart everyday with your love, making me more like Jesus. In Jesus name Amen
