Do Everything for Christ
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Colossians 3:23-24
Paul did everything for Christ and his sinful nature was crucified with Christ. Paul’s will was replaced with God’s will, meaning every day Paul strived to do the Lord’s will. This is the best life we can live, each day striving to do the Lord’s will, as Christ guides us through the Spirit.
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:13) What better life can we live when we are guided by Christ? If we develop the attitude of doing everything for Christ, we will soon find our life guided by Christ.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. (Colossians 3:2-4) Our sinful nature will die when we live doing everything for Christ. Our worldly nature is now hidden, because our minds and hearts belong to Christ. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) Our minds are no longer governed by the flesh because our minds are governed by Christ through the Spirit. It all starts by developing the attitude of doing everything for Christ.
When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. (Colossians 3:4) Christ is now our life, living for Christ guided by the Spirit; and we will have eternally glory in Heaven. This is the life that we were created to live, and it is the most fulfilling life we can live. Start doing everything for Christ, and watch where it leads you; closer to Christ and life to the full.
Today seek to be mindful that you are doing everything as doing it for Christ. Do everything, every word, and ever action; do it for Christ. Satan will try and trigger our emotions, keeping us from doing everything for Christ.
Prayer: Lord help me to be mindful, to live today doing everything for Christ; and keep Satan from changing my attitude. In Jesus name, Amen
