The Faith that Pleases God

Posted on

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Hebrews 11:6

Do you feel your faith is pleasing to God, and is your faith pleasing to yourself? Do you wish you had more faith? Faith is eternally important because without faith it is impossible to please God. We will look at faith that pleases God based on the words of Jesus

And he said: Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:3) This verse doesn’t mean we are to become little children, but to have the faith like that of little child. A small child believes and trusts their mother because of the love and care the child receives from the mother. A small child fully trusts the mother when in the arms of the mother, and the child feels secure with their life in the arms of the mother.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10) Can we trust God the same as little children trust their mother? All things are possible for God; his love for us is perfect, is power and strength is perfect, and his wisdom is perfect. With a perfect loving father who wants to give us life to the full and rewards us with eternal life in heaven, what keeps us from surrendering our lives to him? The answer to this question is fear from Satan who puts doubt in our hearts, keeping us from fully trusting our perfect loving God.

The first step to surrender is the hardest, but over time we experience the freedom and the blessings from our loving God, and we pray every day the Lord will help us surrender more fully. True faith occurs when we give God control of our life and we become his servants. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) When we give God control, we gain control and we are free in Christ.

The longer we walk with the Lord, learning to follow his divine guidance through the Holy Spirit, the more he changes our heart and our wills and his will become the same. We find our self seeking to do God’s will because we have learned his ways are always best. We are now in control through the power of the Holy Spirit. Satan through the world no longer has control of us because we take everything to the Lord for his divine power to make Godly choices in our thoughts, words, and actions. We are now free and have overcome the world. For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4)

Our faith is now pleasing to the Lord because we seek his guidance as his servants and we leave the results in his hands. He is the master and he takes responsibility for the outcome, and our responsibility is the do his will. Life is much more peaceful and restful when we stop trying to control everything, but instead put everything in God’s hands. We pray about everything the Spirit puts on our hearts, but we leave the answer and the timing in God’s hands. He is the master and we are the servant. Life goes much smoother when God is in control because the things we were struggling to do, or to change in our own strength, are fulfilled in God’s strength and wisdom.

Today be free in Christ and trust the Lord to guide you through your day and leave the results in his hands. Notice the peace and rest with this attitude and understanding. God is in control which frees you, and you are his servant always striving to give your best for the Lord. We need to stop trying to be God and surrender to the freedom and blessings from the one and only divine loving God.

Prayer: Help me Lord to surrender fully today and live as your servant, to step of the throne and give you control. Guide me in the Spirit to make divine choices in my thoughts, words, and actions. Thank you for leading me in life with your divine love and power and reaping the blessing that are only from you. In Jesus name, Amen
