Eternity is Our Future

Posted on

Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.

2 Peter 3:11-14

Every human being that ever lived on this earth, will live for eternity when Christ returns. It does matter what people believe, God never changes, and our eternal destination in based on how we live the short earthly life. Are we living for Christ or we living for Satan, there is no other choice.

Many people are deceived by Satan, and some Churches are also deceived by Satan. The Bible is the only truth, and everyone has a lifetime to read and obey the Word, and each person is responsible for there own eternal destination. Each person is judged independently, based on how they life their life.

We go to Church on Sundays, but the Lord is interested in our life the other six days of the week. Just going to Church every Sunday will not bring eternal salvation to our life. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 7:21) Each person will be judged by a heart that seeks to obey the Father, which is by obeying the Word of God.

Each person has the responsibility to read and obeying the Word. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22) Every person has the responsibility of obeying the Word to the best of their ability. Christians care about others and have the desire to tell them about salvation in Christ, because many people don’t know Christ, including many Christians. We have a complete life to read the Word and obey the Word.

Every person is responsibly for their own salvation, no else can take our responsibility. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. (2 Corinthians 5:10) Do we serve Christ in this life?

You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. (Romans 8:9) If we desire Heaven to be eternal home, we must have the Holy Spirit living within us, because the Spirit connects us to Christ and to the Father.

Today live for your eternal life by following Christ and the Word of God.

Prayer: Lord, help me to live every day for my eternal life. In Jesus name, Amen
