Eternal life

Posted on

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.

John 10:28-30

Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. “For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it. (Matthew 7:13-14) We are on the narrow road to Heaven, and no one can snatch out of the Fathers hand. We need a Church family to help us to stay on the narrow road, because Satan will tempt us to move on the broad road.

The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:7) The closer we are to Christ the more our worldly desires pass away; and things of God become more important. We live for eternal life and tell others about salvation through Christ.

Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. (Galatians 6:8) We live in our flesh but every choice we make, we make sure it agrees with the Spirit. When we walk with Christ, we make Godly decision and we fully enjoy this life; because we are living the way God created us.

This life on earth is short, and when we die, we face eternity. When are flesh dies, our soul and spirit live forever, and we all face eternity. Our soul is our personality and the body without the spirit is dead. For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, (James 2:26) This life on earth is the only time we have, to live so Heaven will be our eternal home. If we don’t live for eternal life, Heaven will not be our eternal home.

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14) If we think about this life, we can see it is very short; and our next life is for eternity, and where we live for eternity is dependent on this short earthly life.

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:5-7) We are created by God to be guided by the Spirit.

Today live by the Spirit; and the more we know the Word of God the more we can live by the Spirit.

Prayer: Lord, help me live by the Spirit and to read and obey the Word. In Jesus name, Amen
