Closer to Christ
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
1 John 4:7
God is love and with hearts of love we are closer to God because we can identify with his love and emotions. We can see the same love and emotions through Jesus, and with God’s love in our hearts, we have the same love and emotions as Jesus.
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22) We obey the Word as Jesus leads us through the Spirit to bring Christ to everyone that will listen. When our life’s desire is to tell others about salvation in Christ, we constantly depend on Christ to guide us and give us a caring heart, scriptures, and the words; and that brings us closer to Christ and to the Father.
This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. (Joshua 1:8) When we minister to people, especially to people who don’t know the Word, and it’s important to know scriptures to overcome the lies they believe from Satan. The power is in the Word of God and we need to know scriptures, and the more we know the Word the closer are to Christ.
The closer we are to Christ, the more we depend on Christ, and the more we know the Word; the greater our life, with a heart of love and peace. The greatest thing in life is our closeness to Christ and the Father. I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. (Philippians 1:23-24) When our life is driven to be closer to Christ, Heaven becomes our home because we desire to be with the Father and Son, but we remain in the body to serve Christ.
Today serve Christ, read the Word, pray, and seek to be closer to Christ. Depend on Christ for everything today, and with a thankful heart.
Prayer: Lord, guide me to bring lost souls to Christ, and I always depend on You for everything. In Jesus name, Amen
