Choose the Best Life
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27
We are created by God and we are created in his image, and when we live in his image, we have chosen the best life possible on this earth. The problem is that Satan tempts everyone to live for their fleshly desires, but Satan knows we are spiritual people and only God gives us the best life. He tempts us to live for our flesh, because he knows it will pull us away from God.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) Satan’s plan is to steal, kill, and destroy our eternal life with the Father and the Son, but the Lord provides life to the full meaning nothing is missing because he satisfies us, the spiritual person.
Most people in the world don’t realize they are a spiritual person. Our soul is our thoughts, personality, and will; and the body without the spirit is dead. As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. (James 2:26) Since our life is spiritual, how can we be content unless the spiritual person is content? We are spiritual people and only God can bring lasting satisfaction and contentment to us through the Holy Spirit. Christians are continuously fed with blessings from God as we live to serve Christ.
People in the world have little or no understanding of life, when lived by God’s divine plan, because Satan has them living for their flesh and they don’t know any other way to be content. Most people in this world think serving God will make them a slave, and they see life as boring and with no enjoyment. This is the lie Satan has spread throughout the world.
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:14) Only a few people find the narrow road because most people in the world don’t search for God’s truth by reading the Bible. For a non-Christian we need to explain the Word of God to them, and this will take some time, but we should have scriptures ready for this case.
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) Christ sets us free, free from sin, free from Satan’s fear, free from physical death; and we know Heaven is our home.
Today live the best life reflecting Christ, and know life gets better the closer we are to Christ. There is no substitute for reflecting mind and heart of Jesus.
Prayer: Lord help me to reflect the best life you have given to everyone who follows your divine plan. In Jesus name, Amen
