The False Prophet
Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon. It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed.
Revelations 13:11-12
The second beast is called the False Prophet, and his purpose is to deceive the people into worshipping the first beast, the dragon (Satan), the man of lawlessness (first beast), and the false prophet; makeup the unholy trinity. The first beast was healed from a fatal wound imitating Christ rising from the dead. Satan takes the Word of God and twists it into evil, and he deceives the world.
And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. (Revelations 13:13-14) The false prophet, through the evil power of Satan, causes fire to come down to deceive the inhabitants of the earth. People who don’t know God’s truth from the Word, will by default be living in Satan’s lies and deceptions.
It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. (Revelations 13:14-15) The false prophet will have an image made of the first beast, and enable it to speak, and demand all the world to worship the image; which is worshipping Satan. If we refuse to worship the beast we could face physical death, and if do worship the beast we face the wrath of God for eternity.
People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it? (Revelations 13:4) People are deceived by the evil power from Satan, and they say, who can make war against it? And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. (Revelations 19, 19-20) Nothing in all creation has power over Christ, and through the power of God he created everything and has total control. Know one can make war against God and win.
Today remember all things are possible for God and walk in his power. We have power over Satan and his demons, and we have power over sin in our life. If we know the Word we will never be deceived by Satan.
Prayer: Lord guide me in the Spirit to live in your love and power. Guide me in the study of your Word so I will never be deceived. In Jesus name, Amen
