Faith in Prayer

Posted on

About five weeks ago, the Eternal Walk team met to discuss how to expand the outreach of our ministry; specifically, how the ministry could have more of an impact on our community, governing leaders, and Christians around the world, as well as how to reach lost souls.

We opened the meeting with a prayer asking the Lord to reveal His plan for us going forward. Almost immediately, the entire conversation turned to the subject of prayer. The Lord was asking us to simply pray!

Eternal Walk Prayer Team

Based on that first meeting, we formed the Eternal Walk Prayer Team, currently consisting of four members. We realized that we needed to expand our prayers to obtain further outreach.

We have faith in the Lord to change things we cannot change. Intercession is powerful! As the Lord’s servants and ambassadors, we need to pray every day as the Holy Spirit puts things on our hearts, walking in obedience to God’s will.

The purpose of expanding our ministry is to save souls by bringing the truth to all people. We pray for our leaders and for Christians all over the world, because as Satan’s influence becomes more powerful in the world, the more souls he will steal from God. It is our mission to spread God’s truth, person to person, through our daily messages and video sermons, and through prayer.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12)

We are in a spiritual war against rulers, authorities, and powers of this dark world and not against people. The most powerful weapon we have to fight demonic influence, is our sovereign God who has control over Satan and his demons and over all creation.

Be Informed

One major task of the Eternal Walk Prayer Team is to be informed, because how can we pray without being informed?

To do this, we will be seeking information regarding persecuted Christians throughout the world, signs of Satan’s activity among leadership, as well as those politicians who are fighting for God’s truth.

Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. (Jeremiah 29:7)

To be informed as to what is happening throughout the world and in our own country requires the right source of information, which is usually found in Christian ministries associated with our leaders.

Power of Prayer

Eternal Walk Ministry will emphasize the power of prayer, the need to pray, and how to pray.  We have scheduled a men’s retreat on the subject of faith in prayer. We are also planning a sermon on prayer, and we are hopeful to also include a bible class to meet quarterly.

It is not only important for the Eternal Walk Prayer team to be informed and pray, but to inform others of the need and the power of prayer.

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (John 14:13)

Whatever sin Satan tries to bring into our lives, the church, or our leadership, it is certainly to God’s glory to overcome it. Pray for God’s victory over sin and walk in obedience to His will. We cannot have one without the other.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior.

(1 Timothy 2:1-30)
