Blessings from God

But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.

Jeremiah 17:7

If we put our trust in God and live our life serving Christ, we will have everlasting blessings. The apostle Paul said he gave up everything to follow Christ: What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ” (Philippians 3:8). The greatest blessing is having a close relationship with Christ.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. (Psalm 34:8) When we live to serve Christ, the blessings from God flows into our hearts, and the blessings get stronger the longer we serve Christ. Things of the world are temporary, while blessings from God last forever.

As our love for the Lord gets stronger, we have reached the point where we are closer to the Lord. In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples (Luke 14:33). This verse implies that serving the Lord should be our priority, which consists of telling people about eternal salvation in Christ. And as we continue telling people about Christ, God fills our heart with his unconditional love, which motivates to help others and tell them about eternal life.

Meditating on God and his Word, praying, and fellowship with our Christian brothers and sisters is fulfilling, and rewarding. We live to serve the Lord and to be a light for Christ. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13). Paul was closer to Christ than he was to the world, because of the blessings from God, and God will do the same for us.

Today invite the Lord into your day, and ask Him to guide you with his wisdom, with a heart of love and compassion.

Prayer: Lord thank you for the blessings from Heaven, and let me reflect these blessing to others. In Jesus name, Amen
