We Are on the Winning Team
Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 57:15
We are in the Lord’s family with Christ living in our hearts, which places us on the winning team. The Father and the Son are the divine power on our team, and the final victory comes when Christ returns. Everyone will then know the Truth, and the lost will know they were on the wrong team. The Lord gives us victory on this earth when we obey His divine will, because victory comes from the Lord and not from the world.
Our team is currently in a Spiritual battle and our enemy is Satan and his demons. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12) Our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with Satan, and we fight through prayer and by revealing God’s truth to the world. Remember that pointing one soul to Christ is victory!
Always remember the winning team is determined by the Father and the Son, and it’s not determined by the world. If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. (John 15:18-21) The world will hate us, they may even kill us, but we remain in victory, because the final victory will be revealed to the world when Christ returns, then the spiritual war will be over.
Our spiritual soul, which is our thoughts, will, and personality; lives in the Kingdom which is within us, while our flesh lives in the world. We never die but we live for eternity with the Father the Son, our flesh returns to the earth as our soul enters Heaven with a new eternal body. So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. (1 Corinthians 15:42-44) This is the reward for being on the winning team, eternal life with the Father and the Son living in a perfect sinless world. Christ and His sacrifice on the cross, opens the door to be on the winning team.
We are assured of victory on the winning team because the Father and the Son have divine power over all creation. There is no thought of ever being on the losing team because the Lord’s power lives in us. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20) We are in the Lord’s family and He gives us whatever we need to overcome the world.
For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) No matter what happens in the world or how the world treats us, we have victory in Christ!
