The Word of God

Posted on

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12

What would we do if we didn’t have the Word of God? The Word is important because it tells us about God, Christ, and how to live so our eternal life is Heaven. If we never read the Word or seldom read the Word, how can we live our life pleasing to God?

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life. (John 6: 63). God created us so our spirit gives us life, and without the spirit the body is dead. As the body without the spirit is dead,..(James 2:26)

The Word guides us to accept Christ who took our sins to the cross and we have forgiveness, because we cannot be perfect. If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. John `chapter 4: verses16 and 17). With the Holy Spirit we have a divine understanding of the Word, connects us Christ, and we are now in God’s family. With the Holy Spirit, our spirit is alive and we live to serve Christ.

The Word is the language of God and without knowing God’s language it will be virtually impossible to obey Christ. But when we know the Word and obey the Word, our hearts are filled with God’s love, and we become a Light for Christ.

Today read the Word because it is the language of God, and our judgment is based on obeying the Word, and serving Christ. The more we know the Word the more we can reflect Christ.

Prayer: Lord, help me to read the Word and obey the Word; and as I obey the Word, I depend on Christ being with me. In Jesus name, Amen
