Spiritual Motivation

Posted on

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Mark 12:30-31

It’s love in our hearts that motivate us to serve Christ. Love is what drives us to tell others about Christ and to help them in physical life, and the more tell others about salvation in Christ, the more love we have for the Father and the Son. Jesus was motivated by a perfect heart of love, he healed many people and told many about the road to Heaven.

Motivation comes from the love in our hearts and it comes from serving the Lord. When we follow the Spirit being a light for Christ in this world, the Lord fills our heart with unconditional love and our life is now centered on God and others. Love frees us from self and places our life on God and others; and we depend on God to guide us to take care of self and our families.

Ministering to others drives us into the Word, prayer, and fellowship, because it is needed to support our ministry and to become more Christ-like. When our goal is to please the Lord by ministering to souls, and the more love we have in our hearts the more love we have for the Lord and the closer we are him. God’s love in our hearts motivates us to serve the Lord, reflecting his love to others, and the longer we serve Christ the more love he puts in our hearts.

For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. (1 John 4:20) We show our love for the Lord by reflecting his love to others. Love frees us from ourselves and as we minister to others, and it becomes the most fulfilling and rewarding thing in our life. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) Life to the full only comes from the Lord, when we give him priority in our life and reflect his love to others.

Today be motivated to care about others, their physical needs and their Spiritual needs. Let the Lord’s love increase in your heart as you reflect God’s love to others, and notice the fulfillment and satisfaction of ministering to others.

Prayer: Fill my heart with your love, so I will be motivated to serve you today, with your love and compassion, and with a heart that truly cares about others. In Jesus name, Amen
