Soar on Wings Like Eagles
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31
We place our hope in Christ because he will renew our strength, and we will soar on wings like eagles. Soar on wings of eagles means we have faith that fully depends on Christ, and we have overcome the world and are no longer part of this world. We live in the kingdom and we minister to the sinful world.
Jesus answered, “God’s kingdom is coming, but not in a way that you will be able to see with your eyes. People will not say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ because God’s kingdom is within you.” (Luke 17:20-21) The Kingdom is within us when our thoughts are on things above and our priority is serving Christ. If our thoughts are mostly on things of the world, then we are not living in the Kingdom within us. Our spirit is our life and our thoughts come from our spirit; if our thoughts are mostly on the world then our spirit is driven toward the world, but if thoughts are mostly on things above, our spirit is driven toward the Kingdom.
Based on our thoughts, both conscience and sub-conscience, we can live in the Kingdom with the Lord’s power to help us. Then we will soar on wings of an eagle above things of the world. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. (John 17:16) Jesus is praying and telling his Father that his apostles are not of this world, meaning the Kingdom of God is their home. In Heaven we will be living in the Kingdom God, but the Lord has put the Kingdom in us, the Holy Spirit, and if our thoughts and are toward Christ, then our spirit and the Holy Spirit become one, and we are in the Kingdom. When we are living in the Kingdom, fear disappears and we feel like we are soaring above the world like eagles. That is because we are closer to Christ than any person or thing on the planet.
Today keep your thoughts on things above and we do this by depending on Christ for everything we do today. This would be true if Christ was physically with us throughout our day, but Christ is within us through the Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Lord help me soar like the wings of an eagle above this world. Guide me to live in the Kingdom and no longer be part of this world, but minister to the world from the Kingdom. In Jesus name, Amen
