Priority – World or Christ?
And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
Matthew 10:38-39
We can give Christ priority and still be very successful in life, and even more successful with our hearts filled with God’s love and our minds filled with God’s wisdom. If we put Christ first then he provides for earthly needs. And since our soul is content from the divine blessings from God, the things of the world are almost meaningless in comparison.
But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33) This is a promise of God that if we put him first his power will make it possible to meet our worldly needs. This is not the way of the world where Satan wants us give priority to self, but it’s the way of God and it brings lasting divine blessing into our soul.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23-24) When we do everything as doing it for Christ, we will do everything better, and Christ will be with us to help us do everything better. This is the way of God, do everything as doing for Christ and we will have divine help.
When we give Christ the priority, the Lord makes sure we have all our earthly needs, and when we do everything for Christ, he is with us giving his divine help. The Lord’s desire is for to depend on him so he can bless us in everything we do. And if life gets difficult the Lord will guide us through any situation with his love, wisdom, and comfort. We pray and ask for his guidance and power in times of trouble.
Giving the Lord priority is a blessing for us, we have divine help and guidance. When we reflect Christ to the world, our hearts get fill with lasting divine love, peace, joy, security, and all the blessings from Heaven.
Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return. (Luke 6:38) Whatever we give; money, help, food, encouragement, or of self, the Lord promises to give back to us more than we give. We can never out give God!
Today give Christ the priority and receive the blessings from God. Blessings that constantly feed our soul and blessings in this world.
Prayer: Lord help to live as shown in our Word because it is the way we are created to live. As I we live to serve Christ, fill my heart with your love and with blessings from Heaven so I can show the great advantage of giving Christ priority. In Jesus name, Amen
