Our Destination is Heaven

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And we will be with the Lord forever.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

It’s our choice to have Heaven as our home, and the Bible us our guide to Heaven. The Bible is the language of God, and the Word enables us to be guided by the Holy Spirit. If we are sensitive to the Holy Spirit we will travel down to the Narrow Road to Heaven, to be with the Father and the Son forever.

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. (John 14:26) The Spirit is the key to understanding the Word, and the Spirit guides from the Word, toward Heaven and convicts when Satan attacks.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2) Our minds will rewire based on our thoughts, that’s why we have the Spirit to capture our thoughts to the obedience of Christ. The Lord knows our thoughts, and it is critical that we keep our thoughts pleasing to God, otherwise our minds will never rewire. That is why we need to read the Word, pray, and have a Church family.

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:6-8) Satan is always tempting us to live by our sinful fleshly desires, and his temptations are powerful because we live in our flesh. But if our destination is Heaven we will live in the power of the Holy Spirit. And the power of God is infinitely stronger than the power of Satan, we just have to learn to use His power. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Today remember your destination is Heaven and use the Lord’s power to overcome any temptations from Satan. Live in victory over Satan with the power from God.

Prayer:  Father, help me to always see my destination is Heaven, and don’t let Satan distract from moving toward Heaven.  In Jesus name, Amen
