Motivated for Christ

Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

Romans 12:11

The best life is when we are motivated to tell the world about Christ. We pray the Lord opens doors to tell others about Christ, by teaching a class, handing Biblical literature, helping others, etc.  The Lord always has a mission for those who are motivated to serve Christ by following the Spirit.

The apostle Paul was highly motivated to preach the Word and start churches, and the Lord kept him content in all circumstances. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. (Philippians 4:11-12)

When we are motivated to bring Christ to people we will receive blessings from God into our soul, and his love into our hearts will further motivate us be a light on a hill. When we are highly motivated to tell the world about Christ, we are living the best and most rewarding life we can live on this earth, because that is what God created us to do.

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16) We reflect Jesus to the world, showing the heart of Jesus, and we give all the glory to God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  (Galatians 2:20) We live with the power of Christ as we go through life reflecting Jesus.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, (Colossians 3:23) When we do everything in life as doing it for the Lord, we are motivated to do our best, because we are doing for the Lord.  When we do everything for the Lord and we pray for the Lord’s guidance; Satan will flee. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21)

God fills our hearts with his divine unconditional love as we reflect Jesus and tell the world about salvation in Christ. A heart filled with God’s love is what motivates us to tell the world the good news of Christ, especially those close to us. God’s love in hearts will free us from self and places our priority on God and others. Just as Jesus lived to please the Father and tell others about eternal life, and God is molding us to have the mind of Christ.

Today be motivated to show Jesus to others by your behavior, and pray the Lord opens doors to tell someone about Christ. This is what the God created us to do.

Prayer:  Lord fill my heart with your love and guide me to be light for Christ.  In Jesus name, Amen
