Live with God’s Power

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.

Ephesians 3:20

We can have God’s power in us, and we know all things are possible for God. If we depend on God’s power and pray for His power to do His will, we can serve the Lord with divine power. The Lord is always with us and His power works within us.

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. (1 Corinthians 4:20) We can talk about the power of God or we can live in the power of God. We can speak the words of God or we can speak the words of God with His power. When Jesus spoke, people said no one spoke like him because he spoke the what the Father told him.  The officers answered, “No one ever spoke like this man!” (John 7:46 NASB) If we want to speak with the Lord’s power, we need to closely evaluate Jesus’ words and answers. And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. (Luke 2:47 NASB)

We are predestined to conform to the image of Jesus. And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man, [Jesus]. (1 Corinthians 15:49) We are to bear the image of Jesus; therefore, we must pray that God’s power works in us, in our thoughts, actions, words, scriptures, all with a heart of compassion. Our hearts must truly care about the people we are ministering to, if we want the power of God revealed.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 KJV) The power of God comes to us through the indwelling Holy Spirit, and his power in us comes from love and a sound mind.  God’s love in our hearts motivates us to bring Christ to the world with compassion, and we have a sound mind filled with Godly wisdom. God will develop within us everything we need to minister with His power, just as Jesus ministered with the Father’s guidance.  Ministering in God’s power requires that we depend on Christ being with us and guiding us.

Today, live in God’s power by Christ’s guidance. Pray for God’s power in every aspect of your life, especially when ministering to others. Always pray and remember all things are possible for God.

Prayer:  Lord, fill my heart with your power to witness to people.  Help me to always have a sound mind and walk in your divine wisdom.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
