Life with Purpose
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10
God has given every Christian a divine purpose for living. We are created to do good works and point people to Christ; this supersedes everything in life. This calling from God requires that we be filled with the Holy Spirit and be one with Christ. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:5). Christians go through life being a light for Christ in everything, and this makes our lives meaningful and exciting every day.
Many people live each day unaware of their divine calling, and they live very routine days fulfilling their daily tasks. If we do not fulfill our divine calling we are missing out on life to the full from God, and life can become just a daily grind. Whoever wants to serve me must follow me, so that my servant will be with me where I am. And my Father will honor anyone who serves me (John 12:26). There is nothing in life more fulfilling and rewarding than serving the Lord and receiving his blessings.
Unfortunately many people miss out on the fulfilling and exciting life that the Lord offers to his people. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10). Christians live a full life in Christ, and tell others of the fulfilling life the Lord has for them.
Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith (1 John 5:4). When we live to serve the Lord in faith we overcome the world, which means whatever Satan puts in our paths we overcome through love, power, and Godly wisdom. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4). When we live for our divine purpose serving the Lord, we overcome the world because we have power over Satan.
Today live the divine purpose that the Lord has given you because it is the most important and fulfilling thing you will do today and every day. Seek to reflect Christ to everyone with love and encouragement.
Let’s Pray: Lord, help me to live my divine purpose of pointing souls to Christ, and to see it as the most important thing I do in this life. Guide me in the Spirit to reflect Christ to everyone. In Jesus name, Amen
