Divine Freedom from Christ

Posted on

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Galatians 5:1

No matter where we live on this planet, we can be free in Christ. We never yield to sin because the spiritual person we are remains free. We can remain free because our life is in our spirit, and without the spirit the body is dead. Our spirit is one with Christ and Heaven is our home, while our body comes from the earth and must return to the earth.

If we are not free in our spirit from Christ, then we are a slave to the world. We do not conform to the pattern of this world because our spirit lives in the Kingdom. Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, Here it is, or There it is, because the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20-21) We live in the Kingdom while living on the earth, then after the flesh dies, we live in the Kingdom with the Father and the Son, in a perfect world with no temptations.

Christians know this life is temporary, while life after physical death is for eternity. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) The freedom that Christ gives us takes away the fear of physical death, because we know physical death is the door to Heaven. Jesus had no fear of dying because he knew he would return to the Father, yet he was fearful because he took on the sins of the world.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36) Christians are indeed free because we know Heaven is our home, and we have no fear when our flesh dies, because we are spiritual people and we live forever. After our last breath we are alive, because our life leaves the body and we stand as spiritual person. We live in paradise until Christ destroys all evil, then we get a new younger body that never ages and never has any pain.

A person can have millions of dollars and can buy their worldly freedom, but they are not free in Christ because they are slave to the world. Everyone who doesn’t know Christ is a slave to the world.

Today serve Christ and think on things above, because that is how we gain freedom from Christ. Freedom comes from serving Christ, telling others about freedom in this life and salvation from Christ.

Pray: Lord guide in the Spirit to be light on a hill and remain free in Christ until my last breath. In Jesus name, Amen
