Your heart – Christ’s Home

So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,

Ephesians 3:17

The word “dwell” in Greek, is the word “katoikeo,” which conveys; he is home, and permanently settled. This means that Christ permanently resides in our spiritual hearts through the Spirit. Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. (John 14:23) The Father and the Son make their home in our hearts; we are never alone. Therefore, Christ knows what we face every moment of every day.

We show our love for the Lord by having the faith to obey his divine will. If you love me, keep my commands. (John 14:15) Since Christ lives in us and he will guide us in every situation in life. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:29-30) We have rest for our souls because the Father and the Son have their home in our hearts, and Christ will guide us through life; as long as we have the faith to call on Christ.

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4) We have the infinite power of the Father and the Son living in our hearts, enabling us to overcome the world. We live in there power through confident faith that depends on Christ. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20) When we serve the Lord we lean on the Lord’s power, because if we lean on our power, are we being prideful?

Satan will always have us face the world through our power, because he doesn’t want us to experience the Lord’s power. We must face life through the Lord’s power, that is why the Father and the Son live in hearts through the Spirit.

Today live in the Lord’s power because the Father and Son live in your heart. Don’t live in your power but keep depending on the Lord until it becomes natural. The Lord is faithful and if you trust him he will walk with you through life.

Prayer: Thank you for being in my heart and I will always trust your guidance, I live to serve you.  Guide me in the Spirit to always walk in your will. In Jesus name, Amen
