The World is United in Christ

Posted on

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.

Revelation 7:9

This verse tells us that people from all over the world, from every nation, tribe, and language are united in perfect love and living in heaven in the presence of Christ. Christians all over the world are united in Christ by the Spirit. It makes no difference which country you live in, your race, your financial status, your popularity, or your past; the only thing that matters is your heart. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7). If you accept Christ as your Savior, you are saved, heaven is your home, and you are now in the family of God with Christian brothers and sisters all over the world.

I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment (1 Corinthians 1:10). Everyone in the family of God should strive for unity, and reflect a loving, caring heart for everyone. We are united by the love God puts in our hearts.

I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose (1 Corinthians 1:10). We are to be liked-minded according to the Word of God. If we seek to be like-minded through the mind of Christ as revealed through his Word, then the power of God will work through his people. Unity among God’s people is mentioned many times in scripture, and the power of God is revealed because we are unified, that is, we are one powerful source in the world for Christ.

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! (Psalm 133:1). The Lord is pleased when we strive to be Christ minded, and the church is blessed by this. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity (Colossians 3:13-14). All of God’s people should have a forgiving heart, because none of us is perfect. We are to hold each other accountable, helping each other to stay on the narrow road to eternal life.

Today seek to unify your church family and be encouraging to your Christian brothers and sisters. This will lift them to be closer to the Lord. Everyday pray for unity in your local church and for God’s people throughout the world.

Let’s Pray: Lord, guide us as Christians in the Spirit to always seek unity among your people so that we can be a powerful light for Christ in the community. With unity there is no limit to what God can do through his faithful, courageous servants. In Jesus name, Amen
