What Does God Expect from Christians?

Posted on

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:8-10

The verse above tells us that we are saved through faith, and we are created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand. We live by faith and follow the Holy Spirit for God has planned for us. Some will be teachers, preachers, while all of us will reflect Christ to the world.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) We must have faith that is pleasing to God. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6) This verse describes faith that pleases God, that we trust Him with all our heart, and we trust His will over our will.  The closer we are to the Lord and the more know the Lord, the stronger our faith.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. (Mark: 12:30-31) These are the two most important commands in the Bible. Love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength: and love our neighbor as ourself. These are two powerful commands that requires the power of God to change in our hearts.

Christ died for our sins and He bridges the gap to God our Father. .However God is rich in mercy. He brought us to life with Christ while we were dead as a result of those things that we did wrong. He did this because of the great love that he has for us. You are saved by God’s grace! (Ephesians 2:4-5) This is the beginning of the perfect love God has for us.

The Lord fills our hearts with love and care, as we bring God’s love and care to others, telling them the good news of Christ. The Lord wants us to be motivated by love, because His unconditional love and care will be noticed by the people we minster. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) As we bring God’s love to people and tell them about Christ, we are drawn closer to the Lord and we will know Him more.  A heart of love gives us a close connection to the Lord.

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. (1 John 4:11-12) As we love one another, God’s love is made complete in us. We love every person on the planet, but we hate that Satan has deceived them.

Today know you are predestined to conform to the His Son. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son (Romans 8:29) You are in God’s family and being molded to the mind and heart of Jesus.

Prayer: Lord fill my heart with your love so my heart is the heart of Jesus, In Jesus name, Amen
