We Triumph Over Satan

Posted on

These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.

Revelation 17:14

The greatest victory in all of history occurred when Jesus went to the cross; he defeated Satan and all the evil in the world. Those who live for Christ have defeated Satan and live in victory. Satan and his demons are trying to destroy all of God’s people by changing laws, by placing his people inside the church, and by persecuting the church. All true Christians live in victory over Satan and the world, and the greatest victory we can have is to die for Christ. Satan and this evil world cannot destroy God’s people because Satan and the world cannot destroy God. God will eventually destroy this evil world and everyone will know the truth, but for most it will be too late.

We are living in victory over Satan and the evils of this world. We have overcome persecution through the Lord’s strength and power, and we live with confident hearts of love. While he suffered on the cross, Jesus said,Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34). Jesus prayed for the Roman soldiers who crucified him because they didn’t know what they were doing. It is the same for those persecuting Christians today; they don’t know the truth so they don’t know what they are doing. Pray for these lost souls who are blinded to the truth by Satan and his demons.

What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes (James 4:14). Compared to our eternal lives, our worldly lives are like a mist that soon vanishes. Even though this life is short, it is of divine importance; it is our only chance to choose Christ as our Lord and Savior with a final destination of heaven. Alternatively we may reject Christ as Lord and Savior and have a final destination other than heaven.  He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Christians are eternally minded and live this life in view of their eternal home, because we know this life is temporary and this world is not our home. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied (1 Corinthians 15:19). We put our hope in Christ to carry us through this life by the Holy Spirit, and to carry us into our heavenly home.

Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved (Matthew 24:11-13). Whatever evil Satan brings into the world, pray for lost souls, pray they will come to know the truth because there is no room in our hearts for hate. We live with a heart filled with God’s love to our last breath, because it is God’s love in our hearts that enables us to endure.

Today live with a heart of love, with peace and joy no matter what happens, because you know heaven is your home. Refuse to live in fear because no one, including Satan can take us away from being in God’s family. We are the only ones that can separate ourselves from God, and Satan will use fear to achieve that goal.

Let’s pray: Lord, give me your strength and courage to live for Christ to my last breath. Help me to live for eternity and to see this world as temporary. Guide me in the Spirit to fight Satan, through prayer, and by being a witness to everyone the Spirit puts in my path. Let me fight Satan by being a strong faithful Christian who stands boldly for Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
