We Live by Faith
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6
Faith is the foundation of the Christian life, because every blessing from God comes through faith. Faith is how we show that we know the Father and the Son, and we trust them in all things.
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. (James 1:6) With true faith we trust God’s will is over our will. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (Proverbs 3:5)
The more we know God and his love, our faith will continually increase. Who can fathom the Spirit of the LORD, or instruct the LORD as his counselor? (Isaiah 40:13) God knows us better than we know ourselves, and he knows every situation in our life. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9 It through faith that we surrender our life to Christ, because we trust his ways over our ways.
When we surrender to Christ we will walk in his power and courage, with a heart of love and compassion. When we live to serve Christ, we will overcome the world because Christ has overcome the world. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) We overcome the world through our faith.
Because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. (James 1:3) The Lord tests our faith through life’s situations, to know whether we trust God or do we trust ourselves? Faith becomes powerful when we depend on God for everything, with a thankful heart. What is faith without dependence?
When Satan places fear in our minds, remember faith is stronger than fear. And faith leads our hearts to be filled with God’s love, which casts out fear. When our hearts are filled with God’s love, we can endure anything because Christ is with us. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28:20)
Today walk by faith and know Christ is with you. Pray that he will guide you to a be light to others.
Prayer: Lord, continue to increase my faith to where I always depend on you to guide me through each day. In Jesus name, Amen
