We Have Power over Satan

Posted on

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

1 John 4:4

We have the power to overcome Satan’s attacks, just as Light has the power to overcome darkness. We need to realize we have the power of Christ in us, and we need to recognize Satan’s deceiving attacks. If we can do these two things (1), live in the power of Christ and (2), know God’s truth; we will be victorious through the power of God.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) The more we surrender to Christ and let Christ live through us, the more we experience the power of God to overcome Satan and his temptations.

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21)  If we are doing good we are not doing evil.  The more we see ourselves as the Lord’s servants, the more time we spend doing good; praying, reading the Word, and ministering to people. Living as the Lord’s servant ministering to people we learn to love everyone but we hate Satan and his lies that people believe. Our love for people increases and our hatred of sin increases, meaning we become powerful spiritual warriors combating sin.

To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me. (Colossians 1:29) We ask the Lord and we seek to have his power work in us.  When we minister to people if we ask for words and scriptures, he will fill our mind with thoughts and words the person needs to hear. This is divine power from the Lord because he knows the thoughts of the [people we are ministering.

It’s the power of Christ in us that enables us to overcome Satan, and we have to call on the Lord immediately when Satan attacks. If we wait the sinful thought will be conceived it gives birth to sin. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. (James 1:15) When Satan attacks immediately go to Christ for his power to overcome.

Today know you have power of Satan and his evil. Live knowing you have victory because you can call on the power of Christ. Christ is always victorious and he will make you victorious.

Prayer:  Lord thank you for your divine power over Satan that you work in me.  I will always depend on to overcome Satan and to guide me in doing good.  In Jesus name, Amen
