We are Saved by Faith
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.
Ephesians 2:8
Faith shows how well we know the Father and the Son. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13) The more love we have for God, the more faith we will have, because love connects us to the Father.
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22) Its faith that we step out and do what the Word says. When we obey the Word, we are blessed and we increase our faith because God fills our heart with his divine love, and we a closer to the Lord.
Love motivates us to serve the Lord, and it becomes the desire of our hearts. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6) Over time we fully trust God’s way over our way, because from experience we learn God’s way is always best and more fulfilling.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) When we live for Christ our life becomes more about serving Christ and bringing people to Christ, and less focus on self. This is the kind of life Jesus lived and it the kind of life we should live; being a light in this world and bringing people to Christ.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) We don’t conform to the pattern of the world, but we live the life God created us to live, and we live life to the full. God created us in his image and the life we are to live is given in His Word, and when we obey his divine Word we will have faith that pleases God.
Today live with faith, fully trusting the Lord and his divine guidance. His guidance is perfect because he knows us better than we know ourselves.
Prayer: Lord guide me to walk in total faith and not lean on my own understanding, but to trust your will over my will. In Jesus name, Amen
