We Are More than Conquerors

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Romans 8: 35-37

From this verse we know we are conquerors through the power of God, because he is the creator of all things, is sovereign over all things, and all things are possible for Him. Whatever Satan puts in our paths we are victorious as God protects our souls for eternity. We conquer the world and our greatest victory is when the Lord takes us home to heaven. This world is not our home and we conquer this world because we know that heaven is our home.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28). When we walk with the Lord, we know that God will use everything that happens to us for our good and for his glory. He will make us more Christ-like and give us his power to overcome the world. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith (1 John 5:4). Through our faith in the Lord we have his power to overcome the world.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20). Following the divine guidance of the Spirit we have wisdom and courage, and we experience his power within us to overcome the world with a heart of love, just as Christ overcame the world while he was on the cross. Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34). Jesus made this statement to the Roman soldiers who were crucifying him.

 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world (John 16:33). We walk in this world with peace even though Satan and his demons are working to turn the whole world against Christians, because Satan knows Christians are God’s people. Therefore Christians must bring souls into the Kingdom with the same motivation that Satan has to pull souls away from God.

Today walk in this world knowing you are victorious in Christ by fighting off Satan’s attacks. Be a Light for Christ today in this dark world, and show the world that you live in peace, with a heart of love that overcomes fear. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, (1 John 4:18). Fill your heart with God’s perfect love by reflecting his love to others.

Let’s Pray: Lord, thank you for giving me your power to conquer the world. Help me to always know that I have overcome the world by depending on your love and courage. Fill my heart with love, peace, and joy to reflect your Light to the world. In Jesus name, Amen
