We are Judged by the Word

Posted on

He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.

Revelations 19:13

When Christ returns to judge the world, his judgment is based on the Word of God. We read and obey the Word because the road to eternal life is in Bible. Satan keeps us away from the Word so by default we will believe his lies and deceptions.

For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. (1 Corinthians 2:11) The Spirit of God is the Holy Spirit that lives in the believer, and helps us to understand the Word. We also pray for the Lord to help us understand every time we read the Word. We read the Word slowly and think about each verse or group of verses. And as we read and understand the word, we learn what we have to do, to be saved.

It’s important to read the Word slowly and think about what we are reading; How can a verse effect my life, or how can I teach the verse to others.  Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8) The more we read the Word the more we will understand and the more we desire to read.

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 7:21) We obey the will the Father, which is the word of Christ who guides us by the Spirit. The Bible tells us what we have to do in order to be saved, and it’s more than just going to Church on Sunday.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22) When obey the Word then we can teach it better, because we have actually experienced the Word in our life. Eventually we will experience every command in the Bible and we can teach the divine benefit it brings us. We are now a light for Christ, pointing people toward salvation through Christ.

Today take time to read the Word, and read in slowly and take notes, otherwise it will stay for only short period in short-term memory, then it’s gone. The more we think about the scripture we are reading and make notes, it will be stored in long-term memory, and when we obey the Word, it goes to our hearts. And always do what the Word tells us, because we are saved by what we do and the motivation behind what we do.

Prayer:  Lord guide me to read the Word; at least once per day, and to think about the scripture so it will stay in my memory. And help me to always do your will as priority in my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
