We are a New Creation
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
2 Corinthians 5:17
When we accept Christ, we receive the Holy Spirit, we are born of God, and we are a new creation. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (Romans 8:29) We become a new creation because Christ is guiding us through life, to have the mind and heart of Jesus. We are created in the image of God, and God molds us to live in the image of Christ, and this is the life we were created to live.
And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. (Matthew 10:38-39) As we follow Christ, we die to our old life and we live as a new life, reflecting Christ to the world. The old life has died and live the abundant life that leads to Heaven
The new creation is far better than the old creation, because we are guided by Christ through the Holy Spirit to overcome the world and to live in freedom. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) Christ sets us free from bondage to the world, and the closer we are to the Lord the more freedom we experience.
Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) The closer relationship we have with the Lord, the more we study the Word, the more love we have in our hearts, the more we overcome the world.
Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it. (Matthew 7:13-14) The new life is lived on the narrow road, where we walk toward the light of God into Heaven; while those on the broad road are walking around in darkness.
Today, know you are new creation in Christ being molded to likeness of his Son. Picture yourself on the narrow road, at the end of the road see the heavenly Light with Jesus reaching out to you. Christ will guide you through your day every day until you reach the end of the road to your new Heavenly home.
Prayer: Lord, remind me that I am a new creation in Christ, and you are molding me to be more Christ-like. Thank you for freeing me and filling my heart with your love, peace, and joy, that I can reflect to the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen
