Walk with the Lord

Posted on

“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:20

It’s a blessing to know the Lord is always with us, and is willing to guide us through life to our Heavenly home. Just imagine if Jesus was walking with us as he did with his apostles, how often would we rely on his guidance? Well Christ is closer than walking beside us, he lives in us through the Holy Spirit.

The apostles talked to Jesus just as we talk to other people, but Christ now talks to us through our thoughts, and he will change the desire of our hearts, especially when ask for his guidance. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10) If we remain calm inside and aware of our thoughts, especially when we ask the Lord for his guidance, we will notice his thoughts. And often when teaching the Word, he will constantly feed our minds with thoughts and scriptures.

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8) The Word is the language of God, and the more we know the Word the more we will hear the Lord’s thoughts, and the more we will walk in the direction that is pleasing to God. Knowing the Word is a necessity for walking with the Lord.

For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:8) We ask the Lord for his help and guidance, and we seek to be still inside listening for his answers. The more we strive to hear, and the more we pray for his divine help, the more successful we become in walking with the Lord. For all of God’s commands, pray for divine help an seek to obey, because obeying God’s command can be difficult to achieve in our own strength.

Today know the Lord is with you, and ask for his guidance as you go through your day. Talk to the Lord in your thoughts, as if he was walking beside you.

Prayer:  Lord, help me to always know that you are with me, and to always seek your divine guidance. In Jesus name, Amen
