Wait on the Lord

Posted on

The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him.

Lamentations 3:25

The Lord has perfect patience because it takes time to change us, and God is always making us more like Jesus. That is why patience is a fruit of the Spirit, because we wait on the Lord. The Lord’s timing is perfect and he knows exactly what changes need to be made in us and he knows exactly how to make the change in us.

But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31) For those who wait on the Lord will reap the blessing from Heaven, as Christ continually changes us to become the person God created. And when we become the person God created, we will live life to the full.

Satan is always trying to make us rush through our days, because it can keep our minds away from God. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:1) If we are patience and still inside, we will find life to be more relaxing and we will be closer to God. When we are still inside, we have plenty of time to commune with God through each day, and it will bring us peace and joy.

Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free. (Ephesian 6:7-9) Spend each day serving the Lord, and He will change us to be more like Jesus: and over time we can see how the Lord has changed us. The key to be more like Christ is to live our life serving Christ, and we pray for Christ to always be with us. That will give us patience because the Lord is always changing us to our last breath, and change comes as we serve the Lord.

Today serve the Lord, and be still and know the Lord is changing you to be more like Jesus. Over time you will see the changes Christ has made.

Prayer: Lord let me live with patience and live to serve Christ. I pray that I will always seek to be closer to Christ and to become the person you created me to be. In Jesus name, Amen
