Victory in Christ
For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.
Deuteronomy 20:4
At times do you feel weak as a believer? It seems like your life is struggling to see the victory that God has for you. Look up! This is why Jesus lived as man for he knows all about our weaknesses and struggles. He is now at the right hand of God interceding for you. He is your priest who is going to the Father on your behalf. Listen to what is said about him. “for we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness, but was in all points tempted, yet without sin.” Heb. 4:15 He knows us for he was in the same flesh and had the same attacks and struggles that we face. He is not condemning you or demanding that you get your act together. But he is saying to you I know what you are facing that is why you can come boldly to the throne of my grace.
You don’t leave your struggles and then come to him. This will only keep you bound to your struggles. With all your weaknesses and struggles He tells you to come boldly to his throne of favor. “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (Hebrews4:16) You can come boldly because he experienced all of your struggles and took them to the cross. It is not your victory you are trying to gain but his victory. It is what Jesus accomplished on the cross for you that gives you the victory. Come to Jesus for he is your throne of grace and you will see your struggles melt away. Believe it is his joy when you come to receive from him.
Prayer: Lord, remind me today that I have gain victory through Christ who bore my sins on the cross and overcame death. Today Lord I will celebrate, knowing I can be victorious in Christ. Through the love and the power of Christ I can overcome the world. Thank you Lord.
