The World is Changing

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.

2 Timothy 3:1-4

The above scripture describes many people in the last days, which shows what can happen to people when Christ isn’t a part of their lives. The world believes that Christianity is the enemy because of the lies that Satan spreads. Sadly, the majority of people that don’t know Christ will try to live peaceful lives using some secularly-inspired morality that has nothing to do with God.

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many (Matthew 24:11). People who don’t know Christ or God’s Word will believe Satan’s lies. That is because Satan is the ruler of the air, masquerading as an angel of light; he has always been a liar, and he deceives people with his lies:

You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44).

The world is changing. More and more violent crimes are occurring and more Christians are being persecuted. Most people try to understand the world from a physical view, while in fact the world can only be understood from a Spiritual view. Matthew chapter 24 and the book of Revelation reveal how the world will change in the last days. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come, (Matthew 24:14).

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:19-20). No matter how the world changes we can remain lights for Christ because we know the final outcome. Satan was defeated at the cross, and while he can still make moves on the chess board of life, the condition is check-mate. He has been defeated and cannot change the outcome. Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth (Revelation 3:10). The Lord will sustain us in the last days: He will protect our souls from the evil one and he will come back and carry us home.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going (John 14:3-4). No one knows when Christ will return, but he did give us the Word so that we can understand how the world is changing. Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done (Revelation 22:20). Christ will return and we will receive our reward as he takes us to our heavenly home.

Today, pray for lost souls and seek to minister to the lost whenever the opportunity exists. A Christian can be a light for Christ until his or her last breath. Life is short, so live for the Lord’s glory today.

Prayer: Lord, guide me through this life until my last breath. I look forward to going to my heavenly home with you, and not having to fight a spiritual war any longer. Give me the strength, wisdom, and endurance to be light for Christ in these last days. In Jesus name, Amen
