The World Does Not Know God

Posted on

Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

1 Corinthians 1:20

Worldly wisdom is not based on knowing God and his Word, it’s based on deception from Satan. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. (Revelations 2:9) Christians are tasked to overcome Satan’s lies by bringing God’s truth to the world.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. (Hebrew 4:12) We minister to people by bringing the truth of God’s Word.  We must know the Word to minister to the world, because everything we say must be validated through scripture.  If we don’t know the Word, how can we bring the truth to the world? We will just be speaking our words and not the words of God.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22) We learn the Word as we experience God’s promises by obeying the Word.  What good is the Word if we don’t do what it says? The more we know the Word and God’s truth, the better we can minster to lost souls, and we pray the Lord is with us and guides us. If Christians don’t know the Word and obey the Word, how can they know God?

Our enemy is Satan’s deception that feeds the world, and Satan knows the Word and is able to twist the word to deceive people and even Christians. We must know the Word to untwist Satan’s deception, otherwise we are defenseless. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. (John 17:17) The truth of God’s Word is needed to sanctify people by telling them about Christ. We must tell the world about salvation in Christ from the Word, to combat Satan’s lies. Many people think Heaven is their home because they see themselves as a good person, and their good outweighs their bad.

But whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. (Psalm 1:2) A Christian who ministers to the world, is person who is one with the Word. He or she will live in the Word, in prayer, and in fellowship, because all is needed to successfully bring Christ to the world. We are in a spiritual war and we need Godly armor to fight this war.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:14-17) All the spiritual armor is based on knowing and obeying the Word; God’s truth, readiness to obey, faith from the Word, salvation through Christ, and word of God to fight Satan’s lies. The power of the armor comes from knowing and experiencing scripture, otherwise we will be weak in spiritual battle.

Today take the Word with you, in your mind and heart, and have a Bible always close. If the Word is close, the power of God is with you, and Christ will guide you through the Spirit.

Prayer: Lord guide me in knowing the Word and guide me to bring your truth to the deceived world. In Jesus name, Amen
