The Word – Conversation with God

Posted on

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edge sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow: it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12

We can make the Word conversation with God, if we talk to God as we read it, and ask questions for better understanding. The Lord always desires that we read the Word and have a full understanding with his divine help, and to know the blessings of obeying the Word.

When we read the Word, we ask ourselves, how can this scripture affect me, and how can I explain this scripture to some else. When we ask these questions, the Lord will give us a deeper understanding. This explains why the Word of God is alive and active.

The word should convict us so we can obey better, and have a closer with the Lord. And we always ask the Lord for his divine help in obeying the Word, because we need his power in our life. There are commands in the Word that are extremely difficult to obey in our strength, but as we read the Word, we ask the for the Lord’s power to help us obey the scripture.  When we read the Word to others, we ask the Lord for the words to explain the scriptures, because the Lord knows the hearts of the people listening.

When are hearts have God’s love, we know the Word better, because we have better understanding Jesus’ emotions and his heart.  Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) The more of God’s love we have in hearts, the more we understand the Word and heart of God.  A heart of love connects us closer to the Father and the Son.

When we read the Word, it judges the thoughts and attitude of our hearts. The Word will bring us closer to Christ as we strive to be closer for better understanding of the Father and the Son. Knowing the Father and the Son, through the Word, prayer, and meditation, is a life-long process, and being closer to the Lord is the aim of our Christian life.

Today read the Word and make it conversation with the Lord. Read a focus on the scripture, how it will affect you, and how to teach it to others.

Prayer: Father, help me make your Word alive, and to understand each scripture and how it will change me to be more like Jesus. In Jesus name, Amen
