The Victory is Won

Posted on

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:57

Christ has given us victory when he redeemed us to the Father by taking our sins on the cross. When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we have victory and eternal life. However, we continue to fight the spiritual war because Satan tries to destroy our victory. We fight this spiritual war by bringing the good news of Christ to the world. The more we tell the world about Christ, the more we can overcome Satan’s temptations.  Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21)

We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord for our hope is in you alone. (Psalm 33:20-22 NLT)  This verse reflects the experiencing of victory in Christ, our hearts rejoice, your unfailing love surround us, and our hope is you alone. We are the Lord’s ambassadors, living to be a Light for Christ in this dark world until the Lord calls us home.

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. (Philippians 3:20 ESV) If we live with the attitude that Heaven is our home and we are temporary ambassadors for Christ, then we can live knowing the victory is won.  What a blessing we have knowing the heavenly life awaits us.  This divine attitude enables us to live with eternal victory no matter what evil Satan brings on this earth

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. (Colossians 3:15) Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.  (1 Thessalonians 5: 16 -18) No matter what is going on, through all the ups and downs of life, we have the assurance of God’s promises.  The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does.   The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. (Psalm 145: 17-18) Heaven is our home and the Lord is near to us, especially if we live as His ambassadors. He guides our life through the Spirit, fulfilling his will, until we end our temporary ambassadorship and we go to our Heavenly home. We live with a thankful heart to the Lord for saving us, guiding us through life, and filling our hearts with love, peace, and joy. The more thankful we are, the more we know we are living in victory, even in the darkest hours of life.

Today, realize Christ has achieved victory for his people. Fill your heart with his perfect love and let your thankfulness overflow.  Know Heaven is your eternal home and this life is a brief ambassadorship for Christ.

Prayer:  Lord, thank you for achieving victory on the cross and for guiding me to be your ambassador until I go home to be with you forever. Lord, destroy any fear from Satan because victory has already been won. In Jesus’ name, Amen
