The Sheep and the Goats

Posted on

When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

Matthew 25:31-33

Matthew is foretelling that Christ will separate his people from Satan’s people just as the shepherd separates the sheep and the goats. Today in the world we can see that people are either seeking God or they are living by Satan’s lies. It is a prime time to be a light for Christ and to give the truth to people to explain why the world is turning against Christians and how God gives us the power to overcome Satan’s attacks. Jesus said: The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few (John 9:37).

Satan is very active in turning people against Christians by placing his people in the church. He persecutes the church hoping that people will be compelled through fear to deny Christ; he puts his people in government positions to set laws against Christians. We have to fight Satan and bring the truth to people before they lose their eternal lives by believing Satan’s lies. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:19-20). The Holy Spirit will guide us through life to fulfill the above scripture.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, (Colossians 3:23). Christ is our life and we follow the Spirit to overcome the world and point souls to Christ. We fight Satan in the government, in the church, and wherever the Spirit leads us. We search for opportunities and pray for opportunities to minister to lost souls. We minister to our Christian brothers and sisters and we make sure the church we attend is following Christ as given in the Word. We take every opportunity to reflect Christ wherever we go and with whomever we encounter. We take ministering to others as the most important thing in our lives. This is our calling from God.

Today realize that the most important thing you do is to reflect Christ. Reflect Christ in your work, in your driving, to your family, and to everyone you associate with today. Offer an encouraging word and listen intently to their response. People tend to respond to people who respect them and genuinely care about them.

Let’s Pray: Lord, guide me in the Spirit today to be a light for Christ, to reflect your love and compassion just as Jesus did. Help me to remain in control through the Spirit and keep Satan from pulling me away through emotional anger or fear. I pray that the light of Christ will overcome any darkness I encounter today. In Jesus name, Amen
